I Accept My Errors.

Have you been swimming in self-doubt or self-criticism lately? Or maybe you’ve been taking on the responsibility for everyone else’s burdens and you’re feeling some emotional over-load or indigestion? Frog reminds you to clear your energy field in water or in nature so you can fully remember and embrace that this too shall pass. Do you find that you say sorry multiple times a day and apologize for everything as if it is always your fault? Maybe somewhere along your journey you decided you had to shoulder more than your share to keep everyone happy. Sometimes frog brings the message of developing thicker skin, as to not take on all of the problems of the world or take everything so personally.

Every perceived wrong-turn in life is simply an opportunity to see, heal, grow and expand. We stunt our growth when we are unable to accept our mishaps or own our part and when we are ashamed of our lack of proper perspective. The secret in completing the circle of wisdom lies within accepting our error and forgiving ourself. The shaman of the tribe earn their position through many life-lessons and trials that they’ve walked through fully and completely. Inner growth is always attained the moment you’ve accepted your part in the lesson; this is crucial in the process of maturation and evolution. See your past trials, mistakes and lessons as badges of honor and shed your old skin like frog to embrace your newer, wiser self.

Bach Flower Essence: Gentian

Key Words: inner critic, mistakes, accepting our errors, taking things personally, cleansing, emotional over-load, shaman, shedding old skin, water, belching and indigestion, stomach and small intestines, appendix, nose

Action Steps:

  1. Journal around any past memories that may have stunted your growth. The clue is that you were unable to fully forgive yourself for something you did or were a part of so you avoid bringing it into conscious awareness.

  2. Become aware of your inner critic and work on softening your judgements through affirmations and loving words.

  3. Spend time with your 7 year old self. Contemplate what he/she needed emotionally and physically. Find ways to give that to yourself now.

  4. Do you beat yourself up for repeating the same scenarios in your life? Losing weight and always gaining it back, ignoring the same red flags in relationships, etc. journal and reflect upon how you support yourself through repeat lessons.

  5. Are you afraid to make mistakes so you avoid taking risks? This can lead to always feeling like you aren’t fully directing the course of your life.

  6. Are you drinking enough water? Contemplate your current hydration.

  7. Notice if you take on everyone’s emotional baggage…this may make you overly tired, binge eat or check-out.

  8. Sit up straight! This increases confidence and self-support. Feeling powerful raises testosterone and lowers cortisol.

  9. Are you unable to take constructive criticism without beating yourself up? Observe how well you take feedback.

  10. Did you have an overly critical parent? Contemplate if criticism has made you hyper self-critical.

  11. Are you constantly worried that you did something wrong or offended someone? Observe this pattern and contemplate when this started in your childhood.

  12. Do you love and forgive past versions of yourself? Notice if you judge yourself for mistakes in your past and consciously choose to send acceptance and love instead. Remember we are all here to learn through experience.

  13. Notice if you are always trying to do everything right to avoid judgement.

  14. Be like frog and take a bath or go for a swim! Water is a great way to clear your energy field. Also try forest bathing and smudging with sage or palo santo.

  15. Practice letting people have their feelings so you don’t take everything so personally.

  16. If you find you worry and criticize yourself for every perceived wrong-doing, make one of your mantras “this too shall pass.”
